Hotel Peridot in downtown LA rents rooms by the hour - it’s where handsome young hustler Gabriel takes the clients he picks up while working the streets of Los Angeles’ Skid Row. While sending his earnings back to his family, Gabriel remains homeless but has formed a bond with a group of other down-on-their-luck young men, who work the streets and look out for each other.
A chance meeting with Martha, an older woman and published author, provides Gabriel with an alternative perspective on friendship and life, and an opportunity to escape Hotel Peridot and the intimacy of strangers.
Peccadillo sits down with writer/director and actor, Shayne Pax, to discuss his solo debut, PERIDOT. We discuss his his journey to becoming a filmmaker as well as his interpretation of Gabriel, PERIDOT’s protagonist.
