Ma Vie (My Life on Ice)

1h 40m Drama, LGBTQ+ 2002

Sixteen-year-old figure skater Etienne is delighted to receive a camcorder for his birthday. He soon starts filming everything important to him: ice skating, his mother and grandmother, the streets of his native Rouen, and especially his best friend Ludovic and geography teacher Laurent. But as his camera lingers ever longer on the handsome men in his life, his self-declared “Year of Love” takes an unexpected turn.

From directors Olivier Ducastel and Jacques Martineau (THEO AND HUGO, DRÔLE DE FÉLIX), MA VIE is inventively-told story of a young man’s self-discovery through the lens of a camera. It offers an endearing look at the way we all view the world around us.
