Some Prefer Cake follows the story of two friends living in modern San Francisco. Kira is the promiscuous but not very funny comic, who spends the majority of her free time serial dating rather coming up with new comedy routines. On the other hand, Sydney, an uptight restaurant critic, prefers the comfort of chocholate to sex.

Struggling to make sense of her life, Kira falls out with both Sydney and her family. After so many failed romances, Kira realises that it's time to take control over her destiny once and for all.
